Pine Prairie drops pair at home; VPHS sweeps both games

Here is a recap on games played Friday night.
Pine Prairie (G) vs. Eunice
Down by four after one quarter of play, Pine Prairie took over the lead 24-20 at the half, but could not muster enough offense in the second half and let Eunice High slip past with a 45-43 win.
With the loss the Lady Panthers fall to 7-15 on the year and 2-5 in district play.

Pine Prairie (B) vs. Eunice
In a key district match-up, the Pine Prairie Panthers let a 26-22 halftime lead slip away in the final quarter, as the Eunice Bobcats took a 53-49 win.
The Panthers are now 11-6 on the year and 2-3 in district.
Darnell Durgin was the high scorer for Pine Prairie with 14 points.
Ville Platte (G) vs. Church Point
Ville Platte remained undefeated in district play after blowing past Church Point 65-25 on the road.
The Lady Bulldogs led 30-13 at the half and never looked back, as Ville Platte moves to 17-7 on the year and 7-0 in District 5-3A.
Kealogah Calvin had a game high 26 points and Miya McKinney added 21 points for the Lady Bulldogs
Ville Platte (B) vs. Church Point
Ville Platte High remained in the district title hunt after escaping with a 74-72 win over Church Point.
Ville Platte led by one at the half and took a six point lead after three. However, Church Point closed the gap with an 18-13 advantage in the final quarter.
The Bulldogs are now 9-9 on the year and 3-2 in district.
Tyran Jones led Ville Platte with 23 points.
Mamou (G) vs. DeQuincy
The Mamou Lady Demons continue to roll, as they put away the DeQuincy Lady Tigers 53-43 Friday night behind Darelzeray Thomas’ 21 points.
Mamou is now 20-8 on the year and 7-0 in district 4-2A
