Robert James “Bob” Manuel

PINE PRAIRIE - Funeral services will be held for Robert James “Bob” Manuel, 62, of Upper Pine Prairie, Friendship Baptist Church in Upper Pine Prairie at 2 p.m., Friday, February 12. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Mr. Manuel died Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born March 7, 1953, in Oakdale to the union of Lester Manuel and Johnnie Geraldine Gilmore Manuel. He graduated from Oakdale High School in 1972 and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He retired as a dietician supervisor from LCS - Pine Prairie Systems.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Debra Sue Deville Manuel of Upper Pine Prairie; two sons, Jeremy Shane “Jake” Manuel and his wife, Dawn Marie, and Matthew Colter Manuel, all of Upper Pine Prairie; three sisters, Connie Breland of Alabama, Patsy Hoyt of Pineville and Hope (Ted) Dukes of Mittie; two grandchildren, Nicolas Charles Young and Elijah Jake Manuel; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Manuel and Johnnie Geraldine Gilmore Manuel; one daughter, Shanna Dion Manuel Monier; and one grandson, Jacob Shane Manuel.
Rev. Jacob Vollm will officiate.
White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale will be in charge of arrangements.
