Ruby Gautreaux Duos

Funeral services were held for Ruby Gautreaux Duos, 95, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 3 p.m., Monday, April 18. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
A loving mother and grandmother, Ms. Duos died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. She was the last living member of the first graduating class of Vidrine High School in 1938.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Kay Soileau and her husband, Donald Ray, and Stephanie Fontenot and her husband, Herbert “Butch,” all of Ville Platte, and Phyllis Ortego of Reddell. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Duos; her parents, Alex and Moize McCauley Gautreaux; one brother, Calwood Gautreaux; one sister, Lula G. Fontenot; and one son-in-law, Charles Ray Ortego.
Father Mitchell Guidry officiated.
