Trio of parish teams earn LHSAA baseball playoff berths

The 2016 LHSAA baseball playoffs have been announced and three parish teams will continue their season for a least one more game.
The No. 18 seeded Sacred Heart Trojans will travel to Sterlington to take on the No. 15 seeded Panthers on Monday in a Class 2A bi-district contest. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sacred Heart finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-12-1. Sterlington completed their season at 13-10.
The other parish team in Class 2A, the Mamou Demons will also have to travel. Mamou will face off against Holy Savior Menard in Alexandria on Tuesday. Game time is set for 6 p.m. The Demons are the No. 26 seed and finished the season with an overall record of 14-12. Menard earned the No. 7 seed with final record of 20-6 and the District 3-2A championship.
The final team in the parish to earn a playoff spot were the Pine Prairie Panthers. Pine Prairie by way of their 13-10 record earned the No. 23 seed and will travel to New Orleans on Monday to take on the No. 10 seed De La Salle Crusaders. De La Salle out of District 10-3A finished the season 20-4. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
