VP Rotary Club accepting applications for scholarship

The Ville Platte Rotary Club is accepting applications for Ward One students attending Louisiana Technical College, CB Coreil Campus in Ville Platte.
The scholarship award will provide up to $500 or amount of tuition and mandatory fees (whichever is less) for the fall and spring semesters and $250 per summer semester for a period of two years, for a total of $2,500.
Students applying for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:
•Student must be a resident of Ward One. If there are no eligible candidates from Ward One, all other Evangeline Parish candidates will be considered.
•The minimum age is 16 and maximum age is 45.
•Committee members will consider business program applicants on a priority basis. If there are no qualified applicants from the business curriculum, the committee will consider applicants from other available programs.
•Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent and satisfactory score on required entrance exam. If a student fails to meet this primary qualification, one can enroll in developmental classes. If the student passes at least one developmental class, they will be considered. In addition, the applicant must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and good standing with the campus.
Interested students should complete the scholarship application form, along with a 400-word essay on their future plans and turn into the school office or Larry Lachney at Money Mart in Ville Platte.
