Funeral services will be held for Eddie Charles, 63, of Ville Platte, at Refuge Temple Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14. Burial will follow in the St. Matthews Cemetery.
Mr. Charles died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge with his family by his side. He loved landscaping and beautifying the yards of many in the city. He was a loving husband, father, brother and a friend to so many. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Deborah M. Charles of Ville Platte; two daughters, Dorcas and Rachel Charles of Ville Platte; one sister, Gerrel Charles of Eunice; an aunt, Indiana Green (Guffie) of Ville Platte; an uncle, Willie Pitre (Evelina) of Lake Charles; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Mable Ceasar Charles; eight brothers, Melvin, Elvin, Curtis, Johnell, Earnest and Charles and three infant brothers.
Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, at Refuge Temple Church.
Bishop J.D. Matthews and Bishop A. James Vallier will officiate.
