VILLE PLATTE – A Mass of Christian Burial for Lee Burke Thompson was held on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal followed in the Platin Cemetery with Father Mitchell Guidry as Celebrant.
Thompson, 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.
Thompson was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by his children, Deborah Fontenot, Chris Thompson and Sherry Israel; his siblings, Anna Ruth Savant Bertrand and Beverly Jean Savant Michalski; 15 grandchildren, Nicholas Glenn Fontenot, Benjamin Lee Fontenot, Gabriel Brett Fontenot, Justin Thompson, Sonya Thompson, Chasity Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Logan Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Melissa Israel, ‘’Brock” Israel, Michelle Israel, Liz Israel, Monique and Erica Thompson; several great grandchildren, Jacob and Jalynn Israel and Braden, Avery and Jackson Fontenot.
He will now rest in Heaven with his wife, Maudry Smith Thompson and one son, Jerry Thompson, his parents, Felix Thompson and Theotis Fontenot Thompson and his siblings, Mercy Dean Thompson Vidrine and Linus Savant. They surely await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
