SHELTON J. “T-SHEL” FONTENOT

Shelton J. Fontenot, a longtime resident of Ville Platte passed away in Lafayette September 3, 2016 at the age of 90.
Fontenot was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy after World War II. He loved to dance. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and fishing with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved this great man.
Fontenot leaves behind to cherish his memories three daughters Brenda DeVille of Ville Platte, Susan F. Bodin and husband Leland of Maurice and Annette F. Latiolais and husband Scott of Youngsville; four grandchildren, Wendy D. Prather, Kristi DeVille, Travis Bodin and Tyler Bodin; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsey Ortego, Zachary Prather, Neva DeVille, and Hardesty Grube.
Fontenot was preceded in death by his wife Nettie S. Fontenot, parents Maurice and Mandy Fontenot, three sisters, and one brother.
Fontenot will be laid to rest with his loving wife Nettie in the Evangeline Memorial Park Mausoleum with a private family service.
