Ville Platte High to host hoops tourney

The Ville Platte High boys and girls basketball teams will host the first annual Dodge Jeep and Chrysler Bulldog Basketball Tournament beginning this Wednesday.
The tournament will feature some of the toughest competition from around the area.
Teams slated to play in the tournament include Southern Lab, Northwest, Mamou, Opelousas, North Central, the David Thibodaux boys and the Lafayette girls.
Games will kick off on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m., as the Mamou Lady Demons will face off against the Northwest Lady Raiders.
The tournament runs through Saturday, with the finals to begin at 4:15 p.m. for the girls and at 5:30 p.m. for the boys.
