On Thursday, Stacey M. Fontenot, who was arrested in connection to a stabbing that occurred at last year’s Mamou Mardi Gras celebration, appeared before Judge Gary Ortego.
Fontenot, who was 47-years-old at the time of the incident, was arrested on February 11, 2016 for aggravated battery, and was released from jail shortly after on a $75,000.00 bond.
At Fontenot’s hearing on January 5th, this matter was reset, which ultimately means his trial date was pushed to a later date.
Fontenot’s new trial date has been set for March 20, 2017.
Valerie M. Thibeaux was also arrested in connection with the February 9, 2016 stabbing for obstruction of justice. Not long after being arrested the then 37-year-old was released from jail on a $25,000.00 bond.
