The Mamou Demons and Lady Demons took to the court in key district contests against Welsh High School Tuesday night.
The Lady Demons maintained their winning ways with a 49-39 victory over the Lady Greyhounds.
The Demons did not fair so well, as Mamou fell to Welsh 63-50.
Meanwhile, the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans hosted the Rospine Lady Eagles in a non-district contest. Unfortunately for Sacred Heart, Rosepine was able to take home a 44-24 win.
Here is rundown of all three games.
Mamou (G) vs. Welsh
The Lady Demons found themselves in a battle against the Lady Greyhounds in the first half of play.
After taking a 12-5 lead at the end of the first quarter, Mamou allowed Welsh to get back into the game, giving up 10 points and only scoring six.
The difference in the game was the third quarter, as the Lady Demons came away with a 22-10 advantage that carried them for the rest of the contest.
Mamou (B) vs. Welsh
Mamou and Welsh battled hard in the first quarter of Tuesday night’s contest. As the period ended, neither team could take the advantage, with both squads scoring 14 points.
The second quarter was just as close, as Welsh was able to outscore Mamou 16-12 to take a four point lead into the locker room.
The game really turned for the worse for Mamou in the second half. Welsh came out in the third quarter and outpaced the Demons 19-8 and finished the game with an 18-12 edge in the final quarter to seal the game.
Sacred Heart (G)
vs. Rosepine
The offensive woes continued for the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans Tuesday night at home.
Even though Sacred Heart held a 12-10 lead at the end of the first quarter of play, the Lady Trojans proceeded to produce single digits in the final three periods.
Rosepine held Sacred Heart to two, three and seven points respectfully in the last three periods to seal the win over the Lady Trojans.
