A head-on collision in Allen Parish involving a Mamou man has resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including a one-year-old girl.
Louisiana State Police Troop D released a statement on Thursday, January 19 regarding a crash that occurred two and half miles east of Kinder.
According to the release, Troop D responded at 10 a.m. to a head-on crash involving two vehicles on U.S. Highway 190 in Allen Parish. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2015 Nissan Sentra driven by 23-year-old Tyler J. Bamburg of Mamou was traveling west on U.S. 190 when the vehicle that Bamburg was driving crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 30-year-old Derrick Williams of Kinder.
According to Troop D, Bamburg was not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Williams meanwhile and his front seat passenger, 29-year-old Porsha Williams of Kinder, were also pronounced dead at the scene. One-year-old Palaisha Williams of Kinder was transported from the scene with critical injuries, but she died Thursday evening as a result of her injuries at a Baton Rouge area hospital.
According to the statement, impairment on the part of Bamburg is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers for analysis and the crash remains under investigation.
