The monthly meeting for the Town of Mamou was short and sweet as the council, and the rest of the town, turned its attention to Mardi Gras.
At the February 8th meeting, which lasted less than ten minutes, the Mamou Town Council signed off on Chief of Police Brent Zackery’s recommendation to hire Samantha Andrepont as a part-time patrolman at the rate of $8.62 per hour.
The council also voted unanimously to consider a resolution relative to the Municipal Water Pollution (MWPP) report for the town’s wastewater treatment system; appointed Thomas Fuselier as Mayor’s Court Magistrate due to the resignation of Timmy Fontenot and approved Dr. Brent Ardoin as a Board Member for Savoy Medical Management Group (SMMG).
The next Town of Mamou Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m.on Wednesday, March 8.
