Chataignier hires Ardoin to replace Miller as clerk

CHATAIGNIER – Dana Ardoin has been hired as the new clerk for the Village of Chataignier.
Mayor Jackie Malveaux Thomas said, “Right now, we are in the process of training Dana Ardoin for the new clerk position. She is not going to be coming in on a regular basis. Miss Rhonda (Miller, the current clerk) still has not come up with a set date as to when she will be leaving, however Dana has agreed to come in on a voluntary basis to sit and get familar with some things.
“I recommend that we do hire Dana, but we do need to pay her something for coming in, and I suggest that we do a salary payment of $300 and then go from there. Once Miss Rhonda has given the notice that she will be leaving, of course Dana will assume the pay of a full time employee with the salary.”
The council approved the motion to pay Ardoin. The council had approved the hiring of a new clerk at a previous meeting.
