Breaux Bridge will borrow for streets

Breaux Bridge — The City Council authorized Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme to proceed with plans to do a major overhaul of city streets.

The council authorized Delhomme to take the necessary steps to float bonds against the city’s revenue.

“We’re not getting anywhere fixing one little area at a time,” Delhomme said. “We’re going to borrow about three million and let’s go get those streets.”

Details will be worked out in conjunction with bonding attorney Lonnie Bewley.
