Sacred Heart boys take down Episcopal

The Sacred Heart Trojans picked up a big time victory over the Episcopal Knights over the past weekend. The 13-5 victory took place at the Episcopal Tournament.

Brody Fontenot got the win on the hill. Seth LeBlanc came in the game and did some relief work.

Sacred Heart scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Brandon Manuel walked and scored on a single from Jacob Ardoin (2-3, 2 DB). LeBlanc reached base on an error to keep the inning going. Ardoin and LeBlanc would later score in the inning thanks to errors.

The Trojans plated four runs in the top of the second inning. Ian David led off the inning with a walk and Fontenot singled behind him. Derek Fontenot drew a one-out walk. A sacrifice fly from Ardoin pushed David across the plate. LeBlanc followed with a single and three runs scored on a triple from Stuart Schexnayder.

After the Knights answered with a run in the bottom of the second inning and four more in the bottom of the third inning, the Trojans needed to get some insurance runs.

Manuel singled and scored on another hit from Schexnayder. The Trojans plated five runs in the top of the fifth inning. A triple from Brody Fontenot got the ball rolling. Manuel and Derek Fontenot each reached base on walks. A single from Ardoin scored one run and a double from LeBlanc scored two more runs. Ardoin scored on a passed ball and LeBlanc scored on a sacrifice fly from Jonathan Fontenot.
