Attempted purse snatching looked into

CROWLEY – This week, Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs your help to solve a purse snatching.

Crowley Police are investigating an attempted purse snatching which occurred on March 5 at approximately 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Winn Dixie located at 2004 North Parkerson Ave.

The victim was returning her shopping cart to the storage corral, when she felt her purse being pulled away from her shoulder. The victim then fell to the ground by the amount of force being used to pull on her purse. Witnesses as well as the victim, observed a blue van with a black female believed to be in her 20’s fleeing the scene. This suspect was seated in the front passenger side of this vehicle. Luckily, the victim was able to retain her purse but did suffer minor scrapes and bruises.
