EPSO recovers two vehicles
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office recovered two vehicles Thursday, March 20, and Captain Keith Dupre, chief of detectives, is asking anyone with information to please contact the sheriff’s office.
Dupre said a 2008 Toyota Corolla was found burnt on a gravel road off of state Highway 10 (the Oakdale Road) just east of the salvage yard. He said the vehicle was stolen from Opelousas and does not appear to have been stripped clean. It was just parked in the middle of the road and set on fire.
He said maybe someone saw the flames or a suspicious vehicle in the area. He urged callers to please forward any information they may have. Sheriff Eddie Soileau said all callers will remain anonymous.
The second vehicle was parked in a yard. After authorities received information, they asked the residents if the vehicle was their vehicle. The residents said no, so officers contacted the tow truck and had the vehicle removed.
Dupre said the vehicle was stolen from Opelousas and they are still investigating the incident.
