Team Moosa retains slim lead after loss in EMTL Week 7

Team Moosa held onto its narrow lead despite a 7-6 loss to third-place Team Manuel in Week Seven of Eunice Men’s Tennis League play.
On Court One, Terry Hoychick and Dr. John Fontenot of Team Manuel won a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Team Moosa’s David Clause and Eric May.
Team Manuel’s Nicky Miller and Wayne Wimberly defeated Keith Gill and Adam Bass of Team Moosa 6-3, 6-4 on Court Two.
On Court Three, Brad Courville and Brad Martel of Team Manuel scored a 7-5, 6-4 win over Team Moosa’s Scott Eckholt and Phil Young.
Scoring a win for Team Moosa, Donald Martel and Vernon Fusilier won a 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 split set over team captain Gene Manuel and Father Tom Voorhies on Court Four.
On Court Five, team captain Steve Moosa and Jim Butler defeated Team Manuel’s Red Aucoin and Dr. Zeb Stearns 6-0, 7-5.
Mike Conner and David Harper also scored a win for Team Moosa with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Team Manuel’s Randy Frugé and Kenneth Gaspard on Court Six.
In the other match of the week, fourth-place Team D’Aubin narrowed the point gap with a 9-6 win over second-place Team Pitre.
On Court One, Team Pitre’s Jarvis Sam and Chris Gaspard won a 9-7, 3-6, 10-4 split set against Troy Broussard and Chris Duplechin of Team D’Aubin.
Jude Miller and Russell Courville also scored a win for Team Pitre with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Team D’Aubin’s Nicky Moreau and Jason Hanna on Court Two.
On Court Three, Team D’Aubin’s Nick Frugé and Willie Glasscock won 6-1, 6-1 against Monty Person and Al Marks of Team Pitre.
Tom Dietz and Pierre Martel of Team D’Aubin won a 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 split set victory over team captain Kenneth Pitre and Tim Longman on Court Four.
On Court Five, Scott Eckholt and Jim Butler scored a win for Team D’Aubin with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Brett Bergeron and Gene May of Team Pitre.
Team captain Darren D’Aubin and Ray Biessenberger scored a 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 split set win over Team Pitre’s Jed Gaspard and John Pucheu on Court Six.
