XI Chapter, Epsilon State of the Delta Kappa Gamma

Xi Chapter, Epsilon State of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society met at the home of Casey Vercher at 5:30 p.m.. on March 4, 2008. President Suzanne Gray presided.

The collect was led by Elaine Simon and the pledge was led by Maura Cavell. Roll call was called and the minutes were accepted as posted in the newsletter.

The Treasurer, JoAnne Arnaud gave the treasurer’s report.

Under old business, Casey Vercher gave a report on the garage sale. We collected $656. This money will pay for hotel rooms or registration for members attending the state convention. Suzanne Gray reported that 16 members were attending the convention.

Pam Dequeant, membership chairman, handed out recommendations for members at the meeting. We will be voting on these new members in May.

It was decided to call our First Timer’s Basket “Reading Inspires Romance”. The items were on display for members to look at.

Under new business, Sandra Pruitt announced the new nominating committee as: Mary Beth Geesey, Beth Goins and Cathy Guidry. Our new slate of officers will be: President, Suzanne Gray; Vice President , Casey Vercher; Vd Vice President, Lisa Stewart, and Secretary, Josie Fontenot. Pam Dequeant made a motion to accept this slate of officers and Maura Cavell seconded. The motion carried.

The next meeting will be held at Diane Wakefield’s home on April 5th. The theme will be “High Tea: When, Where, & How”.

Suzanne Gray and many members participated in the Xi Chapter Birthday Celebration. This year marks the 78th birthday for Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Epsilon State is 74 years of age and Xi Chapter is 69 years of age.

Hostesses were Maura Cavell, Ellen Stutes, Diane Wakefield, and Christine Wise. A meal was prepared for all members.
