The donkey has a name

CROWLEY – The donkey that has received so much attention during the past week has finally received a name - Chico. The donkey’s owner, Doug Keaton, came into the Post Signal office Wednesday morning to inform us that his girlfriend had already named the animal.

“Yeah, I must have gotten around 10 phone calls from people suggesting different names to me,” Keaton said. “My girlfriend had already come up with the name Chico.”

Keaton went to a horse auction last week and when he saw the donkey he knew that his girlfriend would like it.

“I had to get it for her,” he said.

The Post Signal appreciates the response that the donkey’s picture received. However, seeing as how Mr. Keaton’s girlfriend can pull rank on us all it seems that her suggestion is really the only one that matters.
