A young woman was arrested Friday, March 28, after Mamou Police discovered she allegedly keyed her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle.

Detective Todd Ortis said the department received a complaint Friday that someone’s truck had been keyed while it was parked in a church parking lot Thursday night. The complainant stated his ex-girlfriend sent him a text message stating she knew who had keyed his vehicle. Ortis said the ex-girlfriend, Krista Fruge, 18, 11824 Veterans Memorial Highway, Ville Platte, was brought in for questioning. During the investigation, some of Fruge’s friends confirmed she was the person responsible for keying the vehicle and Fruge was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property.

Fruge was transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail, where her bond was set at $750 by 13th Judicial District Judge John Larry Vidrine.
