St. Eds pounds Lacassine

The St. Edmund tennis team scored a big win over Lacassine Thursday, winning 15-3 overall.

The St. Edmund boys swept Lacassine in singles, 6-0, and won 2-1 in doubles.

Picking up wins for St. Edmund, Isaac Frederick defeated Phillip Devillier 8-2, Taylor Tujague defeated Cody Vettet 8-1, Chase Veillon defeated Gregg Gott 8-6, Reid Redlich defeated Ben Miguez 8-0, David Marcantel defeated Christopher McVicker 8-0 and Alex Veillon defeated David Hoffpauir 8-0.

In doubles, St. Edmund’s Dominic Sonnier and Marcantel defeated Miguez and Hoffpauir 8-1 while Alex Young and Quinn D’Aubin defeated Verret and McVicker 8-5.

Devillier and Gott scored a win for Lacassine with a 8-5 victory over Veillon and Redlich.

The St. Edmund girls won 4-2 in singles and swept Lacassine in doubles, 3-0.

Scoring for St. Edmund, Jennifer Cormier defeated Ashley Moreaux 8-0, Sarah Moosa defeated Amber Lapointe 8-2, Emily Cormier defeated Kelsie Stark 8-2 and Claire Ardoin defeated Brandi Guillory 8-2.

Courtney Priola defeated Casey Leonards 8-3, while Jessica Rabke defeated Addie Thibodeaux 9-8 for Lacassine’s wins.

In doubles, Leslie Reviere and Milly Tanner defeated Moreaux and Stark 8-6, Megan Kreswell and Caroline Brown defeated LaPointe and Brandi Guillory 8-1 and Lori Guillory and Caroline Miller defeated Priola and Rabke 8-1.

On Thursday, St. Edmund hosts Teurlings Catholic at 3:30 p.m.
