Eunice downs Sacred Heart in tennis showdown

The Eunice High tennis team took a clear win over Class 2A Sacred Heart of Ville Platte, defeating the Trojans 13-4.
The Eunice girls team dominated in the doubles matches, defeating the Lady Trojans 5-1.
In singles, the girls swept Sacred Heart, 4-0.
Scoring doubles’ wins for Eunice, Dela Jakob-Wood and Miranda Frugé defeated Alexandra Davidson and Kimberly Rose 8-0, Ashley Fuselier and Alisha Smith defeated Elizabeth Ardoin and Sydia McDaniel 8-6, Lindsay Conner and Hillary Young defeated Carmen Miller and Alexis Dupre 8-1, Bethany Andre and Kandy Andrepont defeated Meghan Sylester and Meghan Tenn 8-6, and Taylor Thibodeaux and Kelly Carrier defeated Margeaux Buller and Danielle Reilly 6-2.
Kayley Soileau and Kary Lafleur scored Sacred Heart’s sole girls’ win when they defeated Eunice’s Candace Guillory and Robin Buxton 6-1.
In singles, Miranda Frugé defeated Erin Deville 8-1, Dethany Andre defeated Alexis Dupre 6-4, Courtney Lafleur defeated Kayley Soileau 6-4 and Hillary Young defeated Carmen Miller 6-4.
In doubles, the Eunice boys tied with Sacred Heart 2-2, but took a 2-1 advantage in singles play.
Scoring wins for Eunice, Daniel Anding and Tim Amiot defeated Ross Soileau and Cain Thevenot 8-6 while David Lombas and Manuel defeated Thevenot and Ryan Duplechain 8-4.
Scoring wins for Sacred Heart, Alex Sylvester and Daniel Robin defeated Chad Smith and Ethan Perrodin 8-6 while Ryan Buller and Alex Dupre defeated Brett Clavier and Jarrod Prather 8-3.
Eunice’s two singles wins came from Vikramjeet Singh’s 8-3 victory over Duplechain and Amiot’s 6-3 win against Thevenot.
Sacred Heart’s Josh Landreneau scored a 8-6 win against Smith.
On Tuesday, the Eunice High tennis team will host DeRidder at 3:30 p.m.
