Ethel Baker Miller
JENNINGS - Grave side services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Greenwood Cemetery for Ethel Baker Miller, 97, who died Friday, April 11, 2008 in Crowley. Officiating for the services will be Rev. Bill Holifield.
Mrs. Miller was born in Crowley on September 3, 1910. Her parents were James Mode Baker and Leota Adeline Shreve Baker. She was a long-time member of the Home Demonstration Club and The First Baptist Church of Vinton. She will be remembered for her love of travel and her enjoyment of life.
She is survived by one son, Baker Mode “Skippy” Miller of Kaplan, seven granddaughters, April Granger and her husband, Mike; Melanie Benson and her husband, Lonnie; Yvonne Beech and her husband, Pat; Jane Veazey and her husband, Gerry; Denise Hatcher and her husband, Jim; Donne Broussard and her husband, Steve; and Wendy Dautriel; three grandsons, Dennis Miller and his wife, Amber; Paul Baker Miller and his wife, Pam; and Mark Miller and his wife, Cyndi; 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Gibbs D. Miller, Sr.; one son, G.D. Miller, Jr.; one daughter, Elgie Ruth Miller Dautreil; one grandson, Stephen James Miller; two sisters, Edna Baker Hudson and Ruth Baker Schneider; and two brothers, Jessie and Sam Baker.
Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.
