Minister’s Corner: Repentance is what is needed

Christians throughout the ages have had the cry of “revival” upon their lips. Today is not different. We need the Lord to revive our spirits, but for that to take place, we must realize repentance is the most important thing that has to happen if we are going to experience revival. Repentance is the funnel through which all revival flows. Nothing good comes without repentance. It is recognizing sin for what it is, followed by heartfelt sorrow, and culminating in a change of behavior.
It is necessary we acknowledge the truth of our error. When God points to an area of our lives that is not pleasing to him, don’t get mad, accept the truth and be willing to change. Sometimes you have to hear the thing you didn’t want to hear in order to get to the place you’ve always wanted to be.
God is not reluctant. He is not willing to unleash a river of blessings in your life. He wants to do that more than you want it done to you. Even now the clouds of heaven are bursting with the grace and mercy of God. You can release that blessing through genuine, heartfelt repentance. All of God’s mercy, all of God’s grace, all of God’s blessing could be yours through repentance.
