Regional Senior Olympic Games

Those in attendance of the South Louisiana Regional Senior Olympic Games in Lake Charles from March 8 thru 15 were, from left, Gilbert Monceaux, winner of one gold medal; Louise Webb, winner of three gold, three silver, and one bronze; and John Webb, winner of eight gold and one silver medal. Not present was Wilbur Bertrand, who won two gold medals. A few events that seniors may participate in are bowling, shuffleboard, and free throw events, among many more. The next event will be held in Lafayette, where finalists go on to state level competition in Baton Rouge, from which they go on to compete next year nationally in San Francisco, California.
