Pink Lady Spring Luncheon
The Pink Lady Auxiliary held their annual meeting and Spring Luncheon on April 3, at the Town Club with 44 members in attendance.
The meeting was called to order by the president, Yvonne Menard, who then led the Auxiliary Prayer and Pledge and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Lerdie Godeaux announced that the nominating committee has recommended Elaine Robison and Gayle Godeaux as three-year members. Other nominations were called for; when no other names were submitted, it was voted on that these two ladies be the new members. By a unanimous vote, they were elected and will be inducted at next month’s luncheon.
Gwen Oliver, third vice-president, introduced the new members who have joined in the last year. These are Mona Ward, Thelma Istre, Priscilla Popp, Lena Richard, Lindy Istre and Judy Libby. Each lady stood as she was introduced and welcomed by the group.
Minutes of the general meeting last October were read by Sylvia Dischler, and the treasurer’s report was given by Georgie Petitjean.
Each officer of the Pink Lady Board gave an oral report of her duties and her accomplishments in the past year. These were Yvonne Menard, Ethel Thibodeaux, Mary Briley, Gwen Oliver, Lerdie Godeaux, Georgie Petitjean, Sylvia Dischler, Neline Bernard, Franki Johnson, Helen Zaunbrecher and Roberta Sonnier.
Ms. Menard had several announcements to make. She encouraged the members to speak with their friends and ask them to join the Pink Ladies. She also reminded each shift to be diligent in keeping the shop clean.
It was announced that a changing table has been purchased by the Pink Ladies, and it has been installed in the lobby restroom.
Finally, she asked the ladies to consider membership on the board next year.
At the conclusion of the meeting, door prizes were won by Lerdie Godeaux, Lindy Istre, Gayle Godeaux and Marguerite Massa. The blessing was led by Cecile Zaunbrecher before lunch was enjoyed by the entire group.
The Hospitality Committee, Helen Zaunbrecher and Franki Johnson, were thanked for their excellent planning of the event.
