Team Pitre extends lead in EMTL Week 11

A loss to first-place Team Pitre in Week 11 of Eunice Men’s Tennis League play has knocked former frontrunner Team Moosa down to third place in a tightly-contested pool.
On Court One, Team Pitre’s Jarvis Sam and Chris Gaspard won a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 split set match against David Claus and Eric May of Team Moosa.
Jude Miller and Scotty Richard of Team Pitre defeated Team Moosa’s Keith Gil and Adam Bass 6-3, 6-3 on Court Two.
On Court Three, Jacque Pucheu and Tim Longman of Team Pitre won a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 split set against Donald Martel and Randall Vigee of Team Moosa.
Team captain Kenneth Pitre and Monty Person won a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Team Moosa’s Vernon Fuselier and Scott Eckholdt on Court Four.
On Court Five, Team Pitre’s Al Marks and Jed Gaspard tied 6-4, 3-6 with Phil Young and David Harper of Team Moosa.
Scoring Team Moosa’s sole win, Mike Conner and Jim Butler defeated Team Pitre’s Greg Gaspard and John Pucheu 6-2, 6-3 on Court Six.
In the other match of the week, fourth-place Team D’Aubin edged up on the competition with a 8-6 victory over second-place Team Manuel.
On Court One, Terry Hoychick and John Fontenot of Team Manuel defeated Team D’Aubin’s Troy Broussard and Chris Duplechain 6-2, 6-4.
Scotty Richard and Jason Hanna scored a win for Team D’Aubin on Court Two with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Scott Manuel and Adam Bass of Team Manuel.
On Court Three, Team D’Aubin’s Nick Frugé and Pierre Martel won a 6-4, 0-6, 6-1 split set victory over Team Manuel’s Brad Courville and Steven Dischler.
Tom Dietz and Willie Glasscock also scored a win for Team D’Aubin with a 7-6, 7-6victory over team captain Gene Manuel and Father Tom Voorhies on Court Four.
On Court Five, Dax Dupre and Ricky Ortego of Team D’Aubin won a 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 split set against Team Manuel’s Chip Thibodeaux and Kenneth Gaspard on Court Five.
Randy Frugé and Dustin Ashford scored a win for Team Manuel with a 7-6, 6-3 victory over team captain Darren D’Aubin and Melvin Bellow on Court Six.
