Hodges earns Player of the Week honors again

CLINTON, Miss. – For the second time this season, Mississippi College’s Paige Hodges has been named the American Southwest Conference East Division Hitter of the Week following the Choctaws’ series win over Ozarks in Clarksville last weekend.

Hodges, who starred at both Notre Dame High School and LSU-E, hit two home runs, three doubles and drove in six runs to help the Choctaws earn an ASC East Division series win over Ozarks and a chance to play for the division crown entering the final week of the regular season.

Hodges, who takes the division’s top hitting honor for the second time this season, batted .400, scored six times and stole two bases.

On the year, the junior utility player is hitting just above .400 with 14 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 35 RBI. He has also scored 36 runs and is 4-of-5 on stolen base attempts. His slugging percentage is up to .708 while his on-base percentage is at .456.

Hodges and the Choctaws will host the University of Texas at Tyler this weekend with a chance to win the ASC East title with a win in the series.
