Gueydan seeking officers
GUEYDAN - The Gueydan Police Department is currently looking to hire patrol officers with all different levels of experience.
“It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to make a career out of law enforcement,” says Chief Blake Herbert. “We will help qualified applicants attain the training and certifications needed.”
According to Chief Hebert, Gueydan is a safe and quiet town. He said that applicants should not only possess those qualities needed to provide security to the community, but also offer a helpful demeanor.
“I want the people of Gueydan to feel like they can always rely on our police force,” says Chief Hebert. “Having officers with outgoing and friendly personalities helps accomplish this goal.”
Applicants should be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma. Compensation begins at $10.35 an hour, but according to Chief Hebert, there are opportunities for pay increases.
