Milton James Gilliam

JENNINGS- Services for Milton James Gilliam, 64, will be held Monday, June 2, 2008, at 1 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.

He died May 30, 2008, Friday at 4:30 PM at the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

He was born in Crowley to James, Sr. and Leona Cormier Gilliam. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday evening by the Knights of Columbus. The interment will be in Raymond-Hathaway Community Cemetery.

Mr. Gilliam was a stock clerk for Moss Regional Hospital were he enjoy his work. He loved listening to baseball and football on the radio, fishing and setting lines out to catch catfish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife Patricia L. Gilliam of Jennings; 2 sons, Patrick Gilliam of Jennings and Rodick Gilliam of Lafayette; 1 daughter, Roslyn Shamsi and husband Bilal of Lawrenceville, GA; 1 brother Wendell Gilliam of Houma; 1 sister, Clara Belle Broussard of Luling, LA and 3 grandchildren, Emaad, Adam and Zackaryia Shamsi.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Lantier.

Pallbearers will be Darrell and Ray Lantier, Keith Broussard, Rudel Duhon, J. J. Pitre and Blake Hebert.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday 8 a.m.until time of service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
