Couple united in marriage

Alison Claire Clary and Scott Joseph Privat exchanged marriage vows during a 7 p.m. nuptial Mass, May 24 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Fr. Jude Halphen and Msgr. Harry Benefield officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clary of Opelousas.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth O’Neil Privat of Crowley.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant V-neck gown of ivory silk satin. The gown featured a mermaid silhouette with covered silk buttons to the hem of the chapel length train.

The bride carried a hand tied, French style, fresh flower bouquet made of Ivory Vendela Roses, Lisianthus, Ranunculus, and for something blue, Tweedia was added. The handle was finished in a French knot using diamond double-faced satin ribbon.

Serving as maid of honor was Nicole Dupuis. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Clary, sister of the bride, Rebecca Privat, sister of the groom, Meghan Terry, Micki DeJean, and Ashleigh Hebert. Hailey LaCaze, godchild of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid. Katherine Privat, godchild of the groom, served as flower girl.

Serving as best man was Troy Fogleman. Groomsmen were Danny Nugier, Jason Privat, and John Nugier, brothers of the groom, and Ben Graham and Chad Broussard. T.J. Nugier, godchild of the groom, served as the junior groomsman. Jack Nugier, godchild of the groom, served as ring bearer.

Escorting guests to their seats were Jacob Nugier, nephew of the groom, Josh Borill, and Tim Regan.

The Scriptures were read by Kristi Fredieu and Kermit Helo. The offertory gifts were brought forward by Annelise Privat, Meredith Privat, and Caroline Nugier, nieces of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Grand Coteau Ballroom.
