VP Farm Team title series begins tomorrow

It will be a fight to the finish in the Ville Platte Farm Team League. The Dots and the Cubs both fought hard to win games in the league. In the end, they will meet up to decide who is the league’s best.

The Cubs won the first half of the league with a 9-1 record. The team is coached by Fred Deshotel who also coached the 2007 Ville Platte All-Stars to the Louisiana State Championship.

The Dots were 9-0 going into their final game Wednesday night after press time. The Dots clinched the second half championship with the 9-0 mark. The Dots are coached by Cane Thomas.

The two squads will meet tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the VPHS Northside baseball complex. This will be the first game in a best-of-three series.

The action will continue Saturday. The second game of the series takes place at 10 a.m. Provisions for the a possible third game have been set already. The two teams will meet again approximately one hour after the 10 a.m. game ends.
