Meetings for members of the Alpha Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi were in April at the homes of Mary Alice Fontenot and Sherry Vidrine. Items of business included plans for a dinner to be donated to the Sacred Heart Foundation for its auction, as well as a Mass for deceased members held May 4.

The nominating committee gave its recommendations for officers for the following year. Duly elected were Lola Fontenot, president; Becky Buller, vice president; Charlotte Fontenot, treasurer; Mary Alice Fontenot, recording secretary; Bobbie Feucht, corresponding secretary; and Linda Buller, historian. Officers were installed during the second April meeting, and members also voted on program of the year.

Invitations for Founder’s Day were distributed, and the event was held May 6, at Cafe’ des Amis. Secret sisters were revealed and gifts were exchanged.

The cultural program on the lighthouse at Alexandria was presented by hostesses Mary Alice Fontenot and Sherry Vidrine.

Members thanked their secret sisters for the gifts and then enjoyed socializing and indulging in the wonderful food provided by the hostesses.
