The Post Signal utilizing online technology

CROWLEY – Over the past few months, the Post Signal has been making the transition to a new medium for the paper, online publishing.
Sources needed by the Post Signal to disseminate information via the web have been created by our parent company, Louisiana State Newspapers, this past year. The process has been frustrating, tedious and sometimes painful, but the website is now improving as those staff at the paper working on it gradually catch on to the methods and madness of the medium.
The Crowley Post Signal website includes the latest front page news, local news and obituaries for public viewing. Also available on the website is the ability to create an interactive poll. The question for consideration this week is “What are you doing to combat the high fuel cost?” Tell us what you think by logging on and participating in the poll.
This new website will be beneficial to the Post Signal for many different reasons, one of which is the ability to reach those natives who have moved out of the parish and keep them up to date on local news. Another reason is the opportunity to reap the benefits of other advertising markets outside the parish.
Information about users and readers of the website can also be tracked by the paper, allowing us to see what items of interest the public is more focused on, and allowing us to provide the public more of what it wants.
