The same thing that is wrong with legislators raising their pay six months after taking office is wrong with Mayor Bob Morris’s proposal to increase his salary $12,000 and legislative bills raising Public Service Commissioners’ ($30,000) and assessors’ ($10,000 for many of them) pay.

Pay raises should be effective with the start of new terms, period.
