Mayor says 'Trash Bash' a success

CROWLEY – The Mayor’s annual “Trash Bash” took place last Saturday as a group of concerned citizens picked up litter around the city. The group, which consisted of over 45 volunteers, gathered at Crowley city hall Saturday morning to begin their task.

Several local churches, politicians, members of the Chamber of Commerce, and 4-H club members were among the volunteers. Trash was cleared on nearly 50 blocks of the city including the Oddfellows Rd. area.

According to Mayor Greg Jones, this year’s turnout was a significant increase over last year which allowed for a greater area being covered.

Controlling litter throughout the city is a top priority for Jones’ administration.
