Bernadine Anderson

A loving wife, sister, aunt and friend, Bernadine Anderson departed this world on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Opelousas General Hospital. She was an educator for more than 37 years.

Visitation will be held at the New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice, LA on Sunday, June 29 from 5:00 PM until religious service at 6:30 PM. Rev. Allen Ben will be conducting the services. Burial will be in the St. Mathilda Catholic Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Nolton “Puncho’’ Anderson of Eunice, LA; a devoted niece and God daughter, Cynthia Ann (Clayton) Doucet of Detroit, MI; one brother, Clarence Enos (Margie) Leavings of Detroit, MI; two sisters, Gladys (James) Blount and Dorothy (Clifton) Gallow, both of Eunice, LA; one brother-in-law, Lee Jay Young of Beaumont, TX; one sister-in-law, Bertha Leavings of Detroit, MI; one aunt, Madie Johnson of Eunice, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents Manuel and Ethel B. Leavings; one brother, Frank Leavings; one sister, Edna Young and a nephew, Michael Leavings.

Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Eunice, LA is in charge of arrangements.
