Iota VFC donates library books

The Iota Volunteers for Family and Community recently donated several books to the Acadia Parish Library, Iota Branch.

The club donates books in memory of members or members’ loved ones who have passed away. The members’ families are asked to select books which they feel best reflects the interests of their loved ones.

The dedications made on Friday, June 13 were, “How to Play Winning Baseball”, by Arthur Mann, in memory of Bailey Miller; “Month by Month Gardening in Louisiana: What to do Each Month”, by Dan Gill, in memory of Francis E. Dietz; “Welder’s Handbook: A Guide to plasma cutting, oxyacetylene, ARC, MIG, and TiG welding”, by Richard Finch, in memory of Johnny Floyd; “Waterfowl Hunting- Ducks and Geese of North America”, by Nick Smith, in memory of Harold Dean Klumpp; and “10 Handicapped Boys and Girls Who Became Famous”, by Basil Miller, in memory of Burnella Breaux Potie.

Ruth Ann Klumpp, Iota VFC president, also presented the book “Arbor Day”, by Kelly Bennett, to Iota Librarian Brenda Miller.

The Acadia VFC association purchased one of these books for each club to present in their respective towns.

The Night Club presented their copy to the Crowley Branch Library and the Roberts Cove club presented theirs to the Rayne Branch.

Family members and VFC members in attendance at the presentations were Harry Woods, Naomi Parker, Amy Miller, Sheila Floyd, Nicole Floyd, Judy Floyd, Alison Dietz, Barbara Dietz, Audrey Miller, Gloria Gaspard, Ruth Ann Klumpp, and Elaine Chatagnier.
