BURNEL FUSELIER
July 19, 1924 - June 25, 2008
Funeral services were held for Burnel Fuselier, 83, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Friday, June 27. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Fuselier died at 12:20 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Ville Platte Medical Center. He was a retired supervisor for the State Highway Department, he served in WWII, and he was a past member of the VFW. He was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Bertha Deville Fuselier of Ville Platte; one son, Stanley Joseph Fuselier of Ville Platte; one daughter, Sherril Fuselier Fontenot and her husband, James Wendell, of Ville Platte; one son-in-law, Howard Deshotel of Ville Platte; two brothers, Claude Fuselier of Lake Charles and Huby Fuselier of Kaplan; one sister, Bertha Fuselier Soileau of Lake Charles; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Addie and Corrine Morein Fuselier; one daughter, Judy Fuselier Deshotel; two brothers; and three sisters.
Father Gene Tremie officiated.

ESABEL FONTENOT
October 17, 1917 - June 28, 2008
Funeral services were held for Esabel Fontenot, 90, of Pine Prairie, the former Esabel Hebert, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 2 p.m., Monday, June 30. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.
A native of Mamou, Ms. Fontenot died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou.
Survivors include one son, Donald Fontenot and his wife, Patsy, of Pine Prairie; one brother, Ronald Hebert and his wife, Calvalene, of Pine Prairie; one sister, Lois Fontenot of Oakdale; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Averton Fontenot; one son, James L. Fontenot; and her parents, Adam and Elia Hebert.

SANDEZ ‘JAMES’ MCCAULEY WALTERS
July 21, 1983 - June 29, 2008
MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Sandez “James” McCauley Walters, 24, of Breaux Bridge, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 1. Burial followed in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Mamou, Mr. Walters died Sunday, June 29, 2008. He was a good, hard-working individual who enjoyed life to the fullest. He also loved his family and his daughter, who was the world to him. He was a loving son, father, brother, grandson and friend.
Survivors include his father, Sandez McCauley of Mamou; one daughter, Alexis Renee’ Walters of Mire; two brothers, Coddy McCauley of Eunice and Drake Duhon of Scott; two sisters, Tellisa McCauley of Mamou and Miranda Walters of Ville Platte; his grandmothers, Rucey Fontenot of Mamou and Terry Granger of Ville Platte; and his loving boss and friend, Milan Gala.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Walters; two aunts, Judy Kaye McCauley and Diana McCauley; his grandfather, John Walters; his great-grandmother, Aline Berzas Fontenot; and his great-grandfather, Sandez James Fontenot.

THEOTIS LEJEUNE PATIN

Funeral services were held for Theotis LeJeune Patin, 79, of Ville Platte, the former Theotis Fontenot, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 1. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Ms. Patin died at 2:25 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou.
Survivors include three sons, Troy LeJeune and his wife, Tina, of Ville Platte, Terral LeJeune and his wife, Karen, of Port Arthur, Texas, and Randal LeJeune and his wife, Dena, of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Harris Fontenot of New Orleans and Joseph Fontenot of Church Point; five sisters, Maureen LaFleur and Alice Delafosse, both of Ville Platte, Mavis Ortego of Houma, Wilda Bourgeois of New Orleans and Theresa LeBlanc of Port Arthur, Texas; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolance LeJeune; her parents, Savioe and Emily Fontenot; one son, Jerry LeJeune; one brother, Euris Fontenot; and one grandchild.

ELOI VIDRINE
July 26, 1920 - July 2, 2008
MORROW - Funeral services will be held for Eloi Vidrine, 87, of Morrow, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Morrow at 10 a.m., Friday, July 4. Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s Mausoleum.
A native of Ville Platte, Mr. Vidrine died at 10:20 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at his residence surrounded by family. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion in Washington and an avid Cajun musician. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lela D. Vidrine of Morrow; two sons, Stephen Paul Vidrine of Baton Rouge and Don Richard Vidrine and his wife, Paula, of Helena, Montana; three daughters, Joana Marie Vidrine Borges and her husband, Louis, of Lafayette, Linda Angela Vidrine Funchess and her husband, Mac, of Folsom and Anita Faye Vidrine Parker and her husband, David, of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Hurley Vidrine of Ville Platte and Bobby Vidrine of Denham Springs; one sister, Lena Belle Vidrine of Ville Platte; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leandre and Linda Vidrine; and a step-mother, Ludy Vidrine.
Visitation will be held today, July 3, from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte and Friday, July 4, from 9 a.m. until time of services in the church. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight, July 3.
Pallbearers will be Louis and Ryan Borges, Mac and Chase Funchess and David and Dylan Parker.
Father Mike Guidry will officiate.
