Zula Burleigh
CROWLEY – Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Geesey-Ferguson Chapel in Crowley for Zula LeBlanc Burleigh, 89, who died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mandeville. Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church officiated. Interment followed in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visiting hours were observed from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Mrs. Burleigh owned and operated a café in Crowley for many years and afterwards, was employed by the Crowley American Legion Hospital as an insurance facilitator. She was also a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Lisa Braquet Stanton of Mandeville and her grandson, Stephen Robert Braquet of Destrehan; a sister, Annie Trumps of Crowley and five great-grandchildren, Chelsea Walter, Seth Braquet, Rachael, Bridget and Dana Stanton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Inez Bernard LeBlanc; her daughter, Clara B. Braquet and her brother, Leonard LeBlanc.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc. of Crowley.
