Writer discusses litter

Dear Editor,

Kudos to Evangeline Parish’s efforts to clean up our beautiful little piece of the Earth. I find it very interesting the very people who are responsible for picking up the trash in our community seem to be one of the largest contributors to the problem. One only need to follow the Allied Waste garbage truck on its daily route and you will see the ridiculous amount of trash these guys leave behind. I suggest that if they would pick up the trash they themselves throw down under the auspecies of picking it up, our trash problem would be cut in half. How easy is that? I guarantee you they can give us a hundred meaningless reasons why this happens and why it can’t be done. Perhaps we should consider another “more professional” company for our parish’s trash pick up…one whose management could in fact order their employees to stop this practice and enforce the rules of their own company. But this is probably way to simple to do.
