EUGEE MANUEL

February 8, 1926 - July 11, 2008

Funeral services will be held for Eugee Manuel, 82, of Pine Prairie, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., Monday, July 14. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Mr. Manuel died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW. He was retired from Calcasieu Paper Co. and the Evangeline Parish School Board. He loved camping and beautifying his lawn.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Manuel and Bob Manuel and his wife, Sarah, all of Ville Platte; one daughter, Phyllis Eaves and her husband, Cecil, of Bayou Chicot; one brother, Herbert Manuel of Ville Platte; eight grandchildren, Spencer Eaves, Chantelle Johnson, Brittany Eaves, Lucas Manuel, Joel Manuel, Mandy Lilly, Hallie Adams and Candice Allo; and five great-grandchildren, Issac Lilly, Audrey Jane Lilly, Paulina Eaves, Laura Johnson and Ashton Manuel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugee and Emily Fontenot Manuel; and his wife of 62 years, Nettie Pitre Manuel.

Visitation will be held Sunday July 13, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m., and again from 8 a.m. Monday until the time of services. A veterans service will be held at 9 a.m., Monday morning.

Father Richard Broussard will officiate.

LaVille Funeral Home of Ville Platte will be in charge of arrangements.
