Amy Smith Andrus

Funeral services will be held for Amy Smith Andrus, 91, of Ville Platte, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 20. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Ms. Andrus died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at her residence. She was a kind and gentle soul, and spending time with her family and dear friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. Their well being was always her first priorty.
Survivors include her beloved son, Audie Andrus and his wife, Patty, of Bayou Chicot. Her memory will be carried on by three precious grandchildren, Trina Balash and her husband, Cameron, of Atlanta, Georgia, Bryan Andrus and his wife, Nicole, and Jason Andrus and his wife, Holly, all of Ville Platte. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Layla, Charley and Hadley. They were her greatest joy in life and she absolutely adored them. She will be deeply missed by her two remaining sisters, Lillian West and Juanita Soileau, both of Ville Platte.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Charley Milton Andrus; her parents, Berthmance and Emilie Fontenot Smith; and three siblings, Arthor Smith, Lydia Fontenot and Adlie West.
Deacon Eugene LeBoeuf will officiate.
