Funeral services were held for Andrus J. Chapman, 92, of Ville Platte, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 5. Burial followed in the M.B. Fontenot Cemetery.
A loving father, grandfather and friend, Mr. Chapman died Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army.
Survivors include one son, Charles Chapman and his wife, Dot, of Ville Platte; two grandchildren, Dirk Chapman and Jacinda LaPrairie and her husband, Paul, all of Ville Platte; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three nieces, Anna Fontenot, Tina Dupre and Debbie Thibodeaux; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lita F. Chapman; and his parents, Philmon and Edna Chapman.
Father Matthew Bazarre officiated.
