VILLE PLATTE – A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, January 16, 2017 for Belle Andrus Ellis at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Taj Glodd officiated the services. Burial followed at B.J. Fontenot Cemetery.
Ellis,84, a resident of Ville Platte, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Ellis loved to cook for her family and friends. She was a babysitter for various families around the Ville Platte area, but she especially loved to babysit her grandchildren. Ellis will be remembered as a friendly, generous and caring woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Delores Soileau and Cathy Chapman and husband, Andy; grandchildren, Brandy, Brandon, Betsy, Blair, Brittani and Julie; 13 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Max.
She is preceded in death by her former husbands, Charles Ellis and Levy Andrus; parents, Adiol and Lula Charlie Guillory; sisters, Mamie Fontenot and Elta Aguillard; brothers, Voorhies, Charles and Lennis Guillory; grandchildren, Justin, Amy and Brian Chapman; and son-in-law, John Glenn Soileau.
Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.
