BAYOU CHICOT - Funeral services will be held for Bert L. Ferguson, 80, of Bayou Chicot, at St. James Baptist Church in Bayou Chicot at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 30. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ferguson died Sunday, August 24, 2014, at his residence.
Survivors include two sons, McKinley Ferguson Sr. and Luvell Ferguson (Anna), both of Bayou Chicot; two daughters, Lula Thierry (Ervin) of Plaisance and Irma Drummer of Ville Platte; one brother, James Ferguson of New Mexico; three sisters, Ester Gallow of St. Landry, Ruby Ferguson of Bayou Chicot, and Algenetia Lavigne of Houston, Texas; and a host grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elnora Guillory Ferguson; his parents, James Ferguson and Linnie West Ferguson; two sisters, Lorrine Ferguson and Helen Davis; and two brothers, Clem Ferguson and Sherman Ferguson.
Visiting hours will be observed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, August 30, at St. James Baptist Church in Bayou Chicot.
Rev. Reginald Arvie will officiate.
