MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Bertha Smith Reed, 78, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 4 p.m., Tuesday, March 11. Burial followed in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Ms. Reed died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Wiggins and his wife, Patrice, of San Jose, California, and Randy Reed of Youngsville; two daughters, Janice Guidry and her husband, Erwin, and Sarah Doucet and her husband, Mitchell, all of Mamou; one brother, J.Y. Smith and his wife, Deola, of Mamou; one sister, Percy Mae Howard of Mamou; 10 grandchildren, Tosha Cormier, Quentin Guidry, Garrett Wiggins, Ian Wiggins, Andre Doucet, Slade Doucet, Skotti Sneed, Courtney Reed, Aaron Romero and Martine Alexander; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Reed; her parents, Amillian and Ola Smith; and two brothers, J.B. Smith and Melvin “Pop” Smith.
