Carl John Veillon Sr.

MAMOU - Funeral services will be held for Carl John Veillon Sr., 73, of Mamou, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou at 1 p.m., Friday, April 22. Burial will follow in the Veillon Family Cemetery.
Mr. Veillon died Monday, April 18, 2016. He served in Vietnam as a member of the United States Navy and his spare time he enjoyed painting and gardening. He also had a passion for Cajun and tribal Indian music.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Annie Veillon of Mamou; one son, John Veillon Jr. and his wife, Chau, of Baltimore, Maryland; two step-sons, Charles “Chuck” Vanhorn of Danville, Pennsylvania, and Christopher Vanhorn and his wife, Christina, of Catawissa, Pennsylvania; one step-daughter, Anique Whitehurst of Iota; one brother, Louis Wade Veillon and his wife, Becky, of New Iberia; and two sisters, Floretta Deshotel and her husband, Ronnie, of Mamou and Mona Duplechain and her husband, Ray, of Ville Platte. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Michele Joann Holford; and one grandson, Brad Joseph.
Visitation will be held today, April 21, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home fin Mamou from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and will reopen Friday morning, April 22, at 9 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed in his honor this evening at 6 p.m.
Deacon Gary Gaudin will officiate.
